Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump said today he does not expect immigration to be mentioned during next week’s first general election debates.
"Hillary Clinton is the person, and I mean the first person, to ever run for the presidency of a country effectively proposing to abolish the borders around the country that she is supposed to be representing," Trump said, speaking to the Remembrance Project, which honors families of those slain by undocumented immigrants.
"But the media doesn’t want you to know that. So they’ll never ask her any questions about her plan. Won’t be talked about at the debate. Which is going to be a very interesting period of time," he said at the event in Houston.
Trump has made immigration a key fixture of his campaign since day one.
